Moving Pets To and From the Bay Area
Partner Van Lines understands
that your pets are a very important part of your family. Needless to say, pets cannot
be transported on the moving van (or in the cab with the driver) even for local
moves within California. Car travel is the most common means of transport and is
the easiest on your pet. Some rail lines will permit pets in the baggage car but
the owner must travel on the same train and be responsible to feed and exercise
the pet at the various stops.
Should you decide to ship your pet by air your Partner Van Lines representative can make the necessary
arrangements (including pick-up, boarding and delivery).

Tax Savings - when Moving
Who Can Deduct Moving Expenses
You can deduct your allowable moving expenses if your move is closely related to
the start of work. You also must meet the distance test and the time test. These
two tests are discussed later.
Retirees or survivors. You may be able to deduct the expenses of moving to the United
States or its possessions even if the move is not related to a new job. You must
have worked outside the United States or be a survivor of someone who did. See Retirees
or Survivors Who Move to the United States, later.
